Hyderabad, February 14: YSR Congress Party on Monday said the Congress MLAs, loyal to Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, are ready for disqualification, as they had voted against the ruling Congress government during the no-confidence motion in December last.
The Congress government is not ready to face bypolls for the Assembly seats, held by the 17 Jagan-loyalist Congress MLAs, now, the YSR Congress claimed.
“The Congress government in the state, having no confidence whatsoever to face the elections, is informally requesting the Speaker to delay his decision on disqualification so as to gain time and to ensure that the by-elections to these vacancies are not clubbed with that of the existing seven vacancies,” a letter released by YSR Congress, on behalf of the Jagan-loyalist MLAs, said.
In the letter, addressed to the Election Commission, the MLAs requested that the announcement of schedule for the bypolls to the seven seats be deferred till the first week of April.
