Jagan irked over police attitude: Threatens of hunger strike

YSR Congress party president and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday informed the CBI Court that he would launch a hunger strike in the jail, if the police authorities did not change their attitude towards him.

Expressing strong displeasure over shifting him to the Court in a van which was used for general prisoners, Jagan Mohan Reddy complained to the CBI Court against the police. Though he was an MP and under protection of Z category, the police shifted him in a van as a general prisoner. It was not proper to see him as general prisoner as charges against him were not proved yet, he pointed out. Police humiliated him by shifting him in a van to the court. If the attitude of the police continues like this, he would launch hunger strike in the jail, he stated.

The CBI Officials informed the Court that transportation of Jagan to the court was the duty of jail officials and they had no relation with it.

JAGAN’S REMAND EXTENDED UPTO JUNE 25

The CBI Court extended the remand of Jagan upto June 25, and permitted him to talk to his family members, who came to court, for half an hour. It has also posted the final decision on the petition of CBI for permission to conduct Narco Analysis test on Jagan, to June 14. The CBI filed the petition in the Court seeking permission for Narco Analysis test on Jagan as the latter was not cooperated with it during inquiry.
In the return trip, the police shifted Jahan to Chenchalguda Jail in a bullet proof vehicle.

Along with Jagan, other accused in the case, IAS officer Venkatram Reddy, Arabindo Director Nithyananda Reddy, Heetro Drugs Srinivas, Sharath Chandra Reddy, B P Acharya, Ramky Chairman Ayodhya Reddy also appeared before the CBI Court. (NSS)
