Jagan ends week long fast

Hyderabad, February 25: The Kadapa former MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was on fast for the last one week on fee reimbursement issue ended his fast by accepting juice from Ms Laxmamma, mother of Varalaxmi, a B.Tech student, who had committed suicide due to the delay in the release of fee reimbursement arrears by the State government.

Jagan Mohan Reddy opined that the government which failed to understand the problems of 25 lakh students and their parents has no right to remain on power.

He also warned that the government would fall under people’s wrath if it failed to review the budget for fee reimbursement and he would intensify the movement. He also questioned the government how Rs 3,000 crores was enough while Rs 6,800 crores was needed for the scheme.

Addressing a gathering of thousands of supporters at Gun Park Jagan expressed these views.

Criticising the State government for its failure to send a representative to his fast camp, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he was not bothered about the issue, but the government had caused agony to 25 lakh students by not sending any representative to this fast.

23 Congress MLAs and one MP expressed solidarity with Jagan’s fast and vowed to walk shoulder to shoulder.
