Jagan dares Naidu to table no-trust move

Vizianagaram, May 26: Kadapa MP-elect and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has asked TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu to table a no-confidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy government if he really has any concern for the poor.

Addressing a largely attended public meeting at Moida in Nellimarla mandal on Wednesday evening, Mr. Jagan said that his “supporters” in the Assembly would extend their support if Mr. Naidu tabled the motion. He said the government was not ready to face the no-trust move as it feared a severe drubbing if the motion was put to vote.

“The TDP too is not ready to do so,” Mr. Jagan said and recalled how the TDP with 47 MLAs in the Assembly had tabled a no-trust motion against the government when Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister.

Expressing concern over the poor response from leaders on the plight of weaker sections, Mr. Jagan said Mr. Naidu must bring pressure on the government to declare Rs. 2,000 as support price per quintal of paddy.

Odarpu Yatra

Mr. Jagan earlier worshipped at Sri Rama temple at Ramatheerthalu in Nellimarla mandal. He was received by temple priests with ‘Poorna Kumbham’. Former senior Congress leader P. Sambasiva Raju, Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari and a host of YSR Congress leaders accompanied him. Mr. Jagan, on the second day of his Odarpu Yatra, garlanded the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and unveiled the statue of his father and former Chief Minster Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at Konada in Bhogapuram mandal. He visited Erukonda, Vempadam, Poosapatirega, Kumili and Sathivada in Poosapatirega and Nellimarla mandals.

He called on the bereaved family of Unukuru Appa Rao and consoled it at S.S.R. Peta. He would begin his third day yatra from Moida on Thursday.
