Hyderabad, February 23: Former Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy continued his fast for the fifth day today to press for the release of funds for tuition fees reimbursement in Andhra Pradesh.
Doctors, who attended on Jagan here, said his sugar levels have come down and that he needs medical attention.
However, the 37-year-old leader is mentally strong and determined to continue the fast for one full week, they said.
Jagan loyalist and ex-Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman B Karunakar Reddy said the former Kadapa MP would observe the fast for seven days as announced by him.
His supporters slammed the state’s Congress Government for not having the courtesy to speak to him or take steps for releasing the funds.
Meanwhile, Social Welfare Minister P Satyanarayana said the Government will abide by the Supreme Court verdict on the fees reimbursement issue and asked Jagan to end his fast.
