Hyderabad, April 04: A war of words has begun between the ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh and the supporters of former party MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy Jagan group even before the campaigning started for the bypolls to Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency.
Jagan will contest from the Kadapa seat, while his mother Vijayalakshmi is likely to be his YSR Congress Party’s nominee in the bypolls scheduled to be held on May 8.
Taking exception to Jagan’s remarks that the bypolls will be a contest between late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Sonia Gandhi, state Congress president D Srinivas said the late chief minister would never have endorsed such comments.
“Rajasekhara Reddy was totally loyal to Congress. He never thought of himself or family. He would support Congress candidates though he is in a different world now,” Srinivas said.
