Jagan condemns police raids on houses of his party workers

YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy today condemned the midnight raids on the houses of his party workers by the police without any search warrants.

Speaking at ‘Arya-Vysya Atmeyaa Sabha’ here on Saturday as part of the party’s Nandyal by-poll campaigning, Jagan said the police raids are meant to criminally intimidate the YSRCP workers by the Chandrababu Naidu government. “The police raids are TDP’s way of frightening women and children. A large number of police personnel descended on the houses of his party workers without any warrant and searched the houses. What did they find? The police seized Rs 10,000 in one instance and Rs 20,000 in another instance. Isn’t there a procedure to follow while conducting raids?” he asked.

Jagan said the police raided the houses of YSRCP workers Satyanarayana, Ramesh, Amrutraj, Nagireddy, Jagadishwar Reddy, Ramalinga Reddy, Lakshminarayana, Bala Hussain and Bhuvaneshwar. YSRCP candidate for by-poll Silpa Mohan Reddy and leaders of Nandyal Arya-Vysya associations were present. (NSS)
