Jagan campers dare CM to seek trust vote

Hyderabad, January 28: Taking strong exception to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s recent remarks against late YSR’s family members, former Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy’s loyalists and former ministers and MLAs today challenged the chief minister asking him to prove his majority by seeking a trust vote in the Assembly.

Talking to newsmen at the state Assembly media point this evening, former minister and MLA Pilli Subhashchandra Bose along with another former minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, MLAs Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy, G Babu Rao and MLC Jupudi Prabhakar asserted that they have grown politically and won the elections because of YSR and his programmes. Congress party has come to power twice because of YSR’s efforts. There was no truth in Kiran Kumar Reddy’s claims that he had facilitated an appointment for YSR with PV Narasimha Rao, and that he had struggled to defend Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Assembly on the allegations made by the opposition TDP relating to Paritala Ravi’s murder case. The CBI probe had proved that Jagan was innocent. In fact, Kiran as the then government chief whip had the responsibility to defend the government on allegations levelled by the opposition, they added.

Answering to a query, Pilli made it clear that they have an intention to resign as their leader (Jagan) has already said, at the time of resigning from the party, that he has no intention to dethrone the Congress government till 2014. “We demand the CM to seek a trust vote in the Assembly to prove his majority. We will work as per our leader’s (Jagan) directions. It is certain that Jagan will become the chief minister in next elections,’’ they noted.

Asked whether they would resign the Congress party after launch of a new political party by Jagan, they claimed that they would continue extending ‘outside’ support to Jagan’s party without resigning from the Congress. “People will not forgive us if we do not stand behind Jagan when he is fighting on various public issues,’’ they added. Replying to a query, Balineni said that Jagan would float his new political party at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district probably on March 15. It is learnt that the new outfit would be called as “YSR Party”.
