Kadapa, February 26: Congress MP of Nandyal S.P.Y. Reddy announced here on Friday that former Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy had agreed to support his son-in-law Sajjala Sridhar Reddy, who is in fray as MLC candidate from Rayalaseema West Graduates constituency and it was morale booster for him.
Mr. Reddy told a news conference here that he would be indebted to Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy for readily extending support to his son-in-law when he sought Mr. Jagan’s support. Replying to a query, he said he was yet to decide on supporting Mr. Jaganmohana Reddy in the 2014 elections, which was three-and-half-years away and asserted that he would repay his debt to Mr. Jagan “along with interest”. Mr. Jagan has assured him that former DCC president K. Suresh Babu of his group would not be fielded, he said.
The Nandyal MP said he had been meeting leaders of Congress, TDP and other parties and seeking all-round support and added that “politics was not a livelihood for him”. Mr. S.P.Y. Reddy visited YSR guest house here and sought former Kadapa Mayor P. Raveendranatha Reddy’s support. He addressed former corporators and Jagan supporters and also sought their support.
Former Kadapa Mayor P. Raveendranatha Reddy assured him his support as per Mr. Jagan’s decision and called upon around 17,000 graduate voters in Kadapa to vote for Mr. Sridhar Reddy.
