Jagan asserts to dislodge Congress in AP

Kadapa, May 01: YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy today said his party would dislodge Congress government on popular support and seek fresh mandate in one year.

“There will be elections in one year or six months from now. Our government will come and we will implement all the welfare schemes (initiated by late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy) effectively,” said Jagan during his election campaign in Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency.

Jagan is seeking re-election from Kadapa Lok Sabha in the bypoll to be held on May 8.

The Congress government in the state has totally failed to implement the welfare programmes like social security pensions launched by Rajasekhara Reddy, he said.

The bypolls to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituency were necessitated following resignations of Jagan and his mother Vijayalakshmi respectively.

Jagan is locked in a triangular contest against Congress and TDP candidates state health minister D L Ravindra Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP M V Mysoora Reddy.

In Pulivendula, Jagan”s mother Vijayalakshmi is facing her brother-in-law and Congress nominee Y S Vivekananda Reddy.
