TDP senior leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu today alleged that YSR Congress Party and its president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy are anti-farmer like his father late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
In a statement here, Muddukrishnama Naidu alleged that prices of fertilizers and seed were skyrocketing during the last 65 years in the country and the poor farmers had to taste lathi blows and bullets for demanding the farm inputs. He alleged that the pathetic condition of farmers was worsened during late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime. He also alleged that while the Congress government at the Centre went on increasing prices of fertilizers and seed, the son and father duo (YSR and Jagan) had converted the so-called Jalayagnam into “Dhanayagnam”.
The TDP leader alleged that Jagan was following footsteps of his father. He has no knowledge about farmers’ problems and his party has no action plan to mitigate the suffering of the tillers. The only thing Jagan knows was “how to loot people and how to embezzle people’s money”. The TDP leader also pointed out there was no mention of farmers’ problems in the five important issues of Jaganmohan Reddy.
Muddukrishnama Naidu said the TDP was not only committed to waive off loans of farmers, but also it will have a comprehensive agricultural plan for the uplift of farmers. He asserted that farmers’ welfare was his party’s aim and objective. He lamented that agricultural growth rate has come down to minus two per cent in 2012-13 during ten-year Congress rule. (NSS)
