Kadapa, November 30: YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who resigned from Congress on Monday, Nov 29, is planning to contest in Pulivendula Legislative Assembly, which was represented by his mother.
Sources close to Jagan said that he will enter the Assembly elections from Pulivendula seat. They also added that his sister Sharmila will contest against his uncle Vivekananda Reddy, brother of former Chief Minister late YS Rajashekhara Reddy, in Kadapa Parliament seat, which was represented by Jagan.
YS Jagan, who is in Kadapa for a memorial service in his father’s honour, said that he will start his ‘Odarppu Yatra’ by Jan 2011. Jagan was accompanied by his mother Vijayamma, who resigned Pulivendula MLA post, and other close supporters.
Jagan is planning to asses his popularity through Odarppu Yatra and to launch the new party.
Earlier, Jagan sent an open letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi describing the reasons for his resignation. In the letter, Jagan slammed Andhra Pradesh Congress leaders and national leadership.
