London, July 06: Pop legend Michael Jackson was desperate to quit music in the months leading to his death as he had picked up an interest in filmmaking, close friend Bryan Michael Stoller has revealed.
Stoller said the superstar, who was addicted to prescription drugs, was “like a bag of bones”, frail and tired, according to mirror.co.uk.
The revelations shatter the image that Jacko was 100 percent committed to his 50-date musical comeback at London’s O2 Arena.
“It was almost as if he’d lost his love for music. He was so frail and exhausted. He wanted to move into filmmaking and told me it was much more important to him than his music,” said Stoller, 49.
Stoller, a filmmaker had known Jackson for 20 years and he began secretly mentoring the King of Pop in film directing before the latter’s death.
“We even formed a production company. It was his passion,” Stoller said.
Jackson loved films and had cartoons on plasma TVs all the time.
