Jackson kids to accept Grammy on his behalf

Los Angeles, February 01: Pop icon Michael Jackson”s children will be present at the Grammy Awards ceremony this year to accept the Lifetime Achievement trophy on the late star”s behalf. The ”Thriller” hitmaker”s two eldest children, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael, 12, are scheduled to take the stage at the prestigious event on Sunday and will be handed the posthumous award, People magazine reported online.

It was rumoured that Jackson”s father Joe was not pleased with the idea of the children accepting the award, but the senior has denied it. “I am very proud that my son, Michael Jackson, is a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award at this year”s Grammy,” Joe said in a statement.

“However, there [have] been some recent rumors that I am displeased with the idea that Michael”s children are accepting the award on my son”s behalf. On the contrary, I am very proud of my grandchildren,” he added.

The event also includes a tribute to the ”King of Pop” which includes a 3-D film clip Jackson made before his death in June last year and performances by stars like Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Celine Dion and Smokey Robinson.
