New York, July 20: Eleven-year-old Jaden Smith, son of Hollywood stars Will Smith, 40, and Jada Pinkett Smith, 36, is proving very adept at learning martial arts, Chinese action icon Jackie Chan said.
Jaden, who is shooting Kung Fu Kid, a remake of 1984’s The Karate Kid, with Chan, 55, was making astounding progress, the actor wrote on his website.
The boy was answering to orders in Mandarin, knew the Chinese terms for many Kung-Fu movements and treated his teacher respectfully, following traditional rules, Chan said.
“I have seen many young children learn martial arts, but I have never met anyone like him,” Chan wrote
Not even his own son had been that talented, the Chinese actor added. In only two months of training Jaden had shown lots of talent, and was confident the boy would be able to do all his own stunts.
Jaden Smith co-starred with his famous father in the 2006 movie The Pursuit of Happyness.
