The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (JAC) today said it would intensify the movement for the separate Telangana state and as part of it it would launch first phase of ‘Udyama Yatra’ on April 10.
Speaking to mediapersons here, JAC Chairman Prof M Kodanda Ram said the Yatra which began at Cherlapally near
here would pass through Tandur, Vikarabad, Chevalla, Siddipet, Nizamabad in Telangana region and ends at
Adilabad on April 13.
He said the movement would be intensified further from April 24 and the JAC would organise rallies from village
to district level on April 14, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar.
Prof Kodandaram said the JAC would mount pressure on the Telangana Congress leaders to make them chalk out an
effective action plan for separate statehood.
‘The suicides by demoralised youth of the region would come to a halt only if the Congress High Command announced
a positive statement on Telangana, he said, adding the Telangana Congress leaders’ meeting here yesterday had
ended in a failure as only a few leaders had turned up.
