JAC demands action against doctors refusing treatment to SA activist

Tirupati, February 08: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Samaikya Andhra (SA) Medical today demanded Indian Medical Association (IMA) to take stern action against doctors who said they will not treat Samaikya Andhra supporters as part of their Telangana agitation. Addressing a press conference, JAC convener and Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) leader Dr C Subramnyam and Co-convener Dr K Sreedhar said it was unfortunate that some of the responsible doctors hailing from Telangana, stated that they would not treat Andhra people.

Condemning the statement , they said, ”we will take special care of pilgrims from all regions, including Telangana visiting to the temple town and also settled at various places in Andhra areas by extending all medical support.” The Medical Council of India (MCI) and IMA should intervene in the issue and take legal action against such registered doctors who expressing inability in treating Andhra public, they demanded.
