All the arrangements for the second phase of polling in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand were finalised on Monday. Twenty one assembly seats in including 18 in Kashmir and three in Jammu and 20 assembly seats in Jharkhand are scheduled to go to polls on December 2.
According to reports, Director General of Police (DGP) of J-K Police K. Rajendra Kumar reiterated that the police will ensure that the Assembly Elections will be carried out in a peaceful manner.
Meanwhile, the high turnout of voters in Jharkhand, especially in Naxal-prone areas has reportedly boosted the morale of all associated officials in the state.
Jharkhand recorded an impressive 62 percent voter turnout in the first phase of assembly elections earlier this week, while Jammu and Kashmir saw 71 percent of its voters participating in the democratic process.
The two states are scheduled to enter the second phase of its five-phase assembly polls on Tuesday. The counting of votes will take place on December 23.
