Jammu, January 29:BJP today accused the state government of harassing and torturing the party’s Kashmir-based activists who voluntarily participated in the recently concluded Bhartiya Ekta Yatra.
“Kashmir-based BJP activists had voluntarily participated in the yatra. These young men and women from the Valley are being subjected to torture and harassment by the state authorities and police instead of being rewarded for their initiative to defy the dictates of militants and participating in mainstream nationalist activity,” Chief Spokesperson and National Executive Member Jitendra Singh told reporters here.
Singh released the names of Kashmir-based activists who participated in the BJYM’s yatra and alleged “they are been hounded and harassed for being Nationalists”.
The activists are being regularly summoned to police stations on the pretext of interrogation and subjected to mental and physical torture, he alleged
