J-K: 3 cops injured after terrorists hurled grenade

Kashmir (Jammu and Kashmir): Three Jammu and Kashmir policemen were injured after terrorists hurled a grenade at them on Baramulla-Srinagar highway

One terrorist involved in the incident was also apprehended by the police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Zaffar Mehdi and two other policemen Shabir Ahmad and Ashiq Hussain sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The arrested terrorist has been identified as Faizan Majeed Bhats, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat resident of Naibug Tral.
The incident took place when a police naka party deployed at Baba Teng Pattan was checking vehicles for the movement of terrorists on Baramulla-Srinagar highway.

When the police signalled a passenger vehicle to stop, the terrorists onboard lobbed a hand grenade on the police party. Following this, the terrorists tried to flee from the spot.

Police have registered a case and further investigation in the matter is underway.
