After much anticipation, Google has now formally confirmed that it is set to host its next event on October 9. Google’s Pixel 3 and especially the Pixel 3 XL have been leaking since some time.
The announcement will take place in New York City 11 AM ET, unlike past Google events that were held close to its home in Mountain View, California.
Based on current rumours and information, we’re expected to see at least two new Pixel phones (the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL), along with new set of Pixel Buds and potentially a homegrown Google Smart Display.
As per the Pixel, 3 will come with a 5.5-inch display and a Snapdragon 845 SoC. The new handset is also said to come with a larger 2,915mAh battery compared to the 2,700mAh battery of the Pixel 2.
The Pixel 3 XL will have a big and tall notch alongside a not-insignificant chin, while the smaller Pixel 3 will boast a more symmetrical design.
Google is also likely to bring a Google Assistant-powered Smart Display to take on Amazon Echo Show and Echo Spot.
The company is set to stream its event live on Made by Google YouTube channel. It will begin at 11 am EST (8:30 pm IST).
