Mumbai, September 11: Shahid Kapoor wants to go the natural way when it comes to maintaining his body. Now, his co-star in Dil Bole Hadippa Rani Mukerji has inspired him to take up yoga and practice with her personal instructor Payal Gidwani.
Shahid has been on functional training for the past one year because he wanted to get an eight pack. The actor admits that it is time he turned to yoga.
Shahid says, “Yoga is something Rani has inspired me to get into. Though I have never done intensive yoga in my life, I’m looking forward to it. When I saw the way Rani looks now, I was awestruck. It’s amazing how yoga can help you get such a great body. It is natural and thus healthier than any other form of training. I think power yoga will help me relax and become more flexible since I’m a dancer too.”
He adds, “I do a lot of strenuous exercises and work hard for three hours daily for five days a week. I’m on a no-sugar, less-oil diet and eat brown rice. I have 6-7 meals daily and regularly take protein shakes. I have to balance now to remain very fit and yoga will provide that.”
Shahid’s yoga regime will be anywhere between one hour and one-and-half hours daily. Payal was also the yoga instructor for Kareena Kapoor during her Tashan days.
