Italians held in cartridge case brought to Delhi

New Delhi, May 28: The Delhi police today brought here for questioning the three Italians, detained in Mumbai and Pune yesterday in connection with the recovery of live cartridges from a 5-star hotel in the national capital where they had stayed.

Giulio Ponetto, Giovanni Ceccomello and Donato D’ngello were brought by the special cell officials of the Delhi police and were questioned in connection with the case, police sources said.

The police is investigating their motive behind bringing the ammunition here and also whether they smuggled it into the country or bought it here. Investigators are also looking into their contacts in the country, they said.

These three Italians and two Indians were detained in Mumbai and Pune yesterday after 24 cartridges were allegedly found from a room in Hotel Radisson near the Indira Gandhi International Airport where they were staying.
