Italian students check-in at Amity to explore rich Indian culture and heritage values

Twenty five students pursuing different programmes in UNIMORE, Italy,will stay at Amity University for three weeks from August 25 till September 12, this year wherein they will be familiarized with India’s rich culture and traditions.

These students will also get to know contemporary industry related trends, latest educational programmes and career options available, Indian Legal Framework, Stress Management, Indian Foreign Policy and International Relations, Travel and Tourism in India and a host of other relevant topics as part of an exchange programme.

Alessandra Bertini- Director of Italian Embassy Cultural Centre, here in the national capital and Prof. Tiziano Bursi- International Marketing, UNIMORE along with Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh- Group Addl. Vice Chancellor, Amity inaugurated “Amity India Immersion Program-University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), Italy” here at the Amity Campus.

Welcoming the Italian students to India and Amity, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh -Group Addl. Vice Chancellor, Amity said , ” India is a vast country with a flavor of 27 States. He informed students that during their 3 weeks stay at Amity, they will be given a glimpse of Indian culture and traditions, Indian hospitality, Indian industry and the way it works which would help them to understand the difference between the Asian way of doing business vis-a vie European style. He familiarized Italian students with Amity University, Amity Innovation Incubator and the way it is promoting entrepreneurship skills amongst the students, the achievements of Amity Business School and other Institutes of Amity.”

Addressing the students, Ms. Alessandra Bertini- Director of Italian Embassy Cultural Centre, New Delhi encouraged the students to enjoy the warm welcome and hospitality of Amitians and Indians and motivated them to take some of it back to European culture.

She advised them to take advantage of exposure in India and spread the values of peace and affinity that India also stands for. She advised them to teach some of the Italian language and culture to their friends in Amity which will strengthen the cross cultural exchanges between Italy and India

Sharing his views, Prof. Tiziano Bursi- International Marketing, UNIMORE extended his gratitude to Amity for hosting the students of UNIMORE and giving them a close glimpse of India. He stressed that Amity University is the Best University in the world with a focus on “Internationalization” and “Active Collaborations” and the students exchange with UNIMORE is a yet another testimony of Amity’s global orientation. He stressed that with the world becoming global and physical boundaries receding, it has become very important for students to stay abreast with cross cultural sensitivities.

He said that program with UNIMORE will give Italian students an opportunity to know Indian way of doing things which will not only bring two universities but two countries closer.

Sharing her views, one of the Italian students- Giovanna who is pursuing Graduation in Economics from UNIMORE said that she is impressed with the rich culture, different religions and economy of India and wants to explore the possibilities of further education and job in India. She shared that she is looking forward to the cross cultural exchanges with the students and people of India which will help her to nurture global outlook.

Another student, Giulia Pasini who is pursing a five-year Bachelors Programme in Pharmacy stated that she been avidly reading the progressive Pharmacy industry in India and always wanted to come down to India to explore this Industry. She expressed her desire to know more about the unity of mind, soul and body that Indian scriptures have been preaching and shared her keen interest in different Indian religions and their teachings.
