Stating that the ruling Congress would play an opposition party role if the people encouraged corruption, APCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana has lamented that the people were not taking care of ‘corrupt’ people.
In an informal chat with the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Botcha said there was nothing wrong if the party loses election and sit in the Opposition benches for five years.
The PCC chief said there were no problems to the State government and the only problem before the government was farmer and power issues. “If the Government could solve these problems, there would be no threat to the Congress in the coming general elections”, he opined. Stating that the State Government was implementing fees reimbursement scheme to 26 lakh students, Botcha said the ruling party has long-term action plan and the government has the strength to face any problem.
The PCC chief said the courts would look after YSRCP Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s issue and the Congress has nothing to do with Jagan. Stating that he has responsibility to dissuade party leaders from joining YSRCP, Botcha said three types of Congress leaders were joining YSRCP and they are: Selfish politicians, those who have lust for money and those who were not sure of their political career. He also said that he would bow down his head if anybody proved that there were loopholes in the implementation of the ‘Arogya Sree’ scheme.
Stating that people would appreciate the Anti-Corruption Bureau if it caught an employee, who took a paltry Rs 4,500 bribe, the PCC chief asked what was wrong in keeping YSRCP Chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who illegally extracted thousands of crores of rupees. He also wondered as to why the people were showing sympathy towards Jagan, who had illegally earned crores of rupees and finding fault with the CBI for its fine job.
