It will be injustice if Hyderabad is made common capital

58% of Govt. employees are from Seema Andhra region and the remaining 42% are from Telangana area. Telangana movement was started to end injustices meted out to the employees of Telangana region. By keeping Hyderabad as the common capital, a scheme is proposed to perpetuate these injustices.

Mr. Devi Prasad, President of Telangana NGOs Association expressed these views while addressing a gathering at Telangana Resource Center yesterday. Mr. A. Bhumaiya, Chairman of the Center Presided over the meeting. Mr. Srinivas Goud, President of Telangana Gazetted Officers’ Association, Mr. M. Veda Kumar, Vice President of Telangana Praja Front, Mr. Khalid Rasool Khan, President of Muslim Sangam, Prof. Jaidheer Tirumal Rao, Mr. Sanaullah Khan, Mr. Pujari Narsing Rao, Prof. G. Lakshman and others addressed the gathering. Mr. Devi Prasad told that in order to do justice, the number of Telangana Employees should be increased in Secretariat. He expressed his apprehension that if Hyderabad is made a common capital for 10 years, the purpose of Telangana struggle would be defeated. Mr. Srinivas Goud apposed giving Central Status to Polavaram protect which affects 5 lakh tribals and 1000 year civilization of Telangana.

Mr. Khalid Rasool Khan told that the Muslims should be given reservations on the basis of their population. He further told that Telangana is known for its Ganga Jamuna Civilization which should be restored . Mr. Veda Kumar told that the Seema Andhra rulers usurped lakhs of acres of wakf properties after the formation of A.P. State in 1956. After getting dislodged from Madras, Kurnool was made the capital of Andhra State in same manner, a new capital could be given to Seema Andhra region. Keeping Hyderabad as common capital is not viable due to geographical distances from Seema Andhra districts. A resolution was passed demanding Rs. 10 lakh crore from the Central Govt. for the development of Telangana. It was also stated that Hyderabad should not be kept common capital for more than 3 years.
