It was not a rave party: ADGP

A top police official deputed to take over the investigations of the attack on youth celebrating in a home stay in the port city of Mangalore in Karnataka last night, said it was not a rave party but a birthday party. ADGP (Law and Order) Bipin Gopalakrishna, who arrived in the city this morning told reporters today that eight persons have been rounded up in the incident and the others involved in the attack will be arrested soon. A Group of nearly 25 Hindu Jagarna Vedike activists had raided the home stay in Padilu area on the outskirts of this port city and attacked the party makers accusing them of taking part in a rave party. Mr Gopalakrishna said it was not a rave party. ‘There was nothing found to suggest that it was a rave party. Bottles of Coco-Cola, food packets and some beer bottles have been recovered from the spot,’ he said. The police are verifying whether the owner of the building ‘Morning Mist’, had licence to run the home stay, he said. MORE UNI
