Istanbul Imam opens doors of mosque to the city’s stray cats

Istanbul: An imam of an Istanbul mosque in Turkey is opening the doors of its mosque to cats roaming on the streets.

Imam Mustafa Efe who began welcoming the furry animal into the mosque last year calls the cats “guests” of the mosque.

As cats also have a special place in Islam therefore his tale of kindness has spread across the sphere.

Imam Mustafa posted a video on Facebook, showed a mother cat who felt so comfortable at the mosque that she decided to raise her young ones.

The video of cats carrying the kittens in her mouth has exploded the internet.

Imam Efe during a Friday sermon had a few kind words to say about the cats who surprised him. “The kitty has found the heart of compassion and mercy,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
