ISRO to test leak, GSLV F06 may be launched on Thursday

Nellore, December 21: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will in all probability announce the date for the launch of GSAT-5P satellite on board Geo-Synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-F06) after conducting experiments to ensure that the leak which put off the scheduled launch on Sunday is under control.

According to information coming in, a team of technicians will decide if the GSLV F06 can be still launched with leak in one of the valves of the Russian Cryogenic stage, which is said to be minor in nature.

The leak was noticed during the pre-launch checks, leading the ISRO to postpone the launch as a precautionary measure.

Sources say that ISRO scientists are of the view that the launch can still go ahead if the leak is remains at the stage in which it was detected. A small experiment will be carried out on Tuesday to ascertain that it is not spreading, the sources say. If the leak is indeed spreading, then the launch will have to be put off indefinitely. If the leak remains at the same stage, the space vehicle may be launched on Thursday.
