Israeli firms eyeing Andhra Pradesh for business

Hyderabad, April 09: Israeli business firms are keen to work with firms in the state in the sectors of waste water management, R&D, IT and Telecom, said Mouneer Aghbaria, chief of Economic Affairs Embassy of Israel in New Delhi.

Addressing an interactive session of Indo-Israel trade relations and bilateral business opportunities organised by the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FAPCCI), Mouneer said, “For these plans to get realised, we need a strong engagement from the part of FAPCCI. We will also bring a delegation and conduct road shows to demonstrate our strength in the sectors like water purifying.

“Over the years, Israel has demonstrated that water can be collected and transferred to far-off places without any transportation loss. We would like to share our technology, for which we need the co-operation from government of Andhra Pradesh,” Mouneer said.

He added that they are going to start work in the states of Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal.

“The initial decision making and preparations will be completed by the end of this year and the works will begin by 2012,” he said and added that equity funds from India and Israel will help in further developments.

Shekhar Agrwal, president of FAPCCI, welcomed the Israeli enterprises into the state.

The interactive session was attended by secretary general of FAPCCI MV Rajashekara Rao and co-chairman for International Trade Relations Ch Hariharan.
