Israel nabs seven Palestinians in WB

Jerusalem, August 13: The Israeli armed forces have kidnapped another seven Palestinians during pre-dawn raids in various parts of the West Bank, the military says.

Palestinian sources said that Israeli troops invaded the central West Bank city of Ramallah and its nearby villages as well as al-Khalil city in southern West Bank and the northern city of Qalqilia, arresting seven civilians.

On Wednesday, the Israeli military forces also arrested four Palestinian civilians in three villages near the northern West Bank city of Jenin.

Palestinians residing in the West Bank fall victim to Tel Aviv’s overnight operations on a regular basis despite a valid security agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA).

According to the agreement, the PA is in charge of security of the West Bank and Israeli service members have no authority in the region.

Palestinians say Israel has kidnapped more than to 2,500 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza since the start of 2009.

More than 11,500 Palestinians imprisoned by Israel are suffering under harsh conditions in detention centers.
