Israel-Maha agri ministers discuss challenges in sector

Mumbai: Israel’s agriculture minister Uri Ariel today met Maharashtra agriculture minister Pandurang Fundkar here.

During the meeting which was also attended by minister of state for Agriculture Sadabhau Khot, they discussed the ways in which the sector could be developed in the state in cooperation with Israel, an official release said.

“During the meeting, the ministers discussed the challenges Maharashtra faces in the agriculture sector going ahead and how can Israel help mitigate these challenges,” the release stated.

This is Ariel’s second visit to India within a year, close on the heels of visits by the President of Israel and the Israeli Minister for Science and Technology.

Ariel had visited India in April 2016 when Israel was a Partner Country in ‘India Water Week’.
