Israel to lift siege on Palestinian territories Wednesday

Ramallah, April 05: Israel to lift Wednesday the siege imposed on Palestinian territories, Radio Israel said Monday.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak issued his orders last week to impose a curfew and prevent Palestinians from entering Israel during Easter at the time that Jewish bigots were planning on placing the cornerstone of Solomon’s Temple in Al-Aqsa mosque.

Meanwhile, in a statement to Voice of Palestine Radio spokesman of Islamic Jihad Khalid Al-Batch refuted allegations made by Radio Israel at the latter quoted the movement on halting attacks on Israel in order to end the sufferings of Palestinians and have the siege lifted.

Radio Israel was trying to pressure the movement into “launching more rockets towards its territories,” he said, adding that “we have the full right to respond – to Israeli aggression – with all means possible.” Israel underestimates Khan Yunis operation resulting in the death of two Israeli soldiers and three Palestinians and of which a number of Palestinian factions claimed responsibility of, he said.

In the mean time Israel announced that that it would not put up with Palestinian shelling of it southern parts, adding that it sent letters to Washington stating that if the attacks continued, Israel’s response would be “vigorous” in order to prevent an open confrontation in Gaza Strip.
