Isolated heavy rains forecast for Coastal Andhra

Hyderabad, August 03: The Met Office on Tuesday said that isolated heavy rain may occur in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam of Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours while Telangana region receive isolated rain during the same period.

The Met office added that moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers may occur at many places in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari of Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places over Telangana, Rayalaseema and in the remaining districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The Met office said that while rain occurred at a few places over Telangana isolated rain occurred over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

Itchapuram in Srikakulam district received 8 CM of rain, Cheepurupalli in Vizianagaram district 5 CM, Sompeta in Srikakulam district and received 3 CM.

In Telangana region, Medak in Medak district received 4 CM, Mednoor in Nizamabad district, Banswada in Nizamabad district, Navipet in Nizamabad district 3 CM, Nizamabad in Nizamabad district, Boath in Adilabad district, Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy district received 2 CM of rains.

The Met Department also said that there would be no large change in the weather conditions in and around Hyderabad city until the morning of August 4, 2011.

The sky condition would be generally cloudy while rain or thundershowers would occur in parts of city.

Maximum and Minimum temperatures would be around 31 and 21 degrees Celsius respectively, the Met office said.
