(Siasat News) A large number of patients spend huge amounts for various medical tests which are done in corporate diagnostic centres. Last month in a TV show, Mr. Amer Khan had exposed the heavy charges of diagnostic centres. It is also known that doctors who prescribe medical tests get commission from the diagnostic centre. In TV serial “Satyame Vajayate” the bribe taken by the doctors has been exposed.
Taking into consideration the inconvenience caused to the patients, Islamic Social Service Society has decided to start a diagnostic centre in front of Muslim Maternity Hospital, Chaderghat which is managed by Jamat-e-Islami.
Amer of Jamat-e-Islami, A.P. Mr. Khwaja Arifuddin told that the series of consultations for setting up a diagnostic centre is in progress. Mr. Mohammed Azharuddin, Vice President of Islamic Social Service Society told that a new building has to be constructed and the diagnostic centre has to be equipped with the latest laboratory equipment. At present a sample collection centre is being run by the society. Dr. Khaled Mubasshir-Uz-Zaffar, Secretary and Mr. Mohammed Naseeruddin, Joint Secretary are actively engaged in this activity. CEO of Muslim Maternity Hospital, Dr. Ilyas Ali Khan, will also be consulted for this new project for getting the required budget estimate. He hoped that this social service project will be started soon.
