Hyderabad: Mr. A.K. Khan, IPS, DGP of ACB told that Maulana Anwarullah Farooqui was a great Islamic scholar and a Sufi of the Deccan. He established Jamia Nizamia and played an important role in the reformation of Muslim society. It is our duty to maintain his heritage. He was the two day international seminar on “The contribution of Anwarullah Farooqui in the reformation of Muslim community”.Prof. B. Laksmhmiah, Principal, University College of Science , Saifabad presided over the seminar. Prof. Abdur Rahman Momin of the Dept. of Sociology, University of Bombay, delivered key note address. In his address he told told that Sufism cannot be separated from Shariat. He highlighted the contribution of Maulana Anwarullh Farooqui for introducing Sufi order.
Dr. Syed Abdul Aziz of Kuwait told that the Islamic scholars are the successors of the Prophet (PBUH). Mufti Khaleel Ahmed told that Maulana Farooqui was a social reformer. He was the teacher of Nizam VI and Niam VII. He was also incharge of religious affairs in Nizam’s Govt.
Dr. Syed Shujauddin Qadri, Convener of the seminar welcomed the guests. In his presidential speech, Prof. Lakshmaiya told that in Islamic institutions, attention is paid on character building. Present on this occasion were, Maulana Khaja Shareef, Dr. Mustafa Shareef, Dr. Badiuddin Saberi, Mr. Abid Siddiqui, Prof. Syed Jahangir, Prof. Abdul Hameed Akbar (Gulbarga University), Prof. Mahjabeen and others. Dr. Sadhana proposed vote of thanks.
