Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily told that Calligraphy should be included in the educational curriculum. If competent calligraphers are appointed as teachers by Central and State Govt., the art of Calligraphy gets promoted. Calligraphy is a visual art. Many people do not understand writing but they can enjoy visual art. Every line and every circle invites people to think. As the Govt. takes care of historical monuments, in the same way, it should also promote calligraphy. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while inaugurating Islamic Art and Calligraphy exhibition held at Bidar by Shaheen Institutions in collaboration with Siasat Art Gallery.
Addressing the inaugural function, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that in this exhibition, more than 600 Art and Calligraphy Exhibits have been presented. The way the calligraphers and artists have put in their efforts, such exhibitions encourage them. The purpose of this exhibition is to create awareness about Islamic Art, culture and civilization to the younger generation so that the message of Quran reaches the entire humanity. He applauded the efforts of artists and calligraphers, namely Mr. Abdul Nayeem Saberi, Shaik Mohammed Abdul Lateef Farooqui, Mr. Mohammed Raziuddin Iqbal, Abdul Naseer and Mr. Syed Naseeruddin Vikhar and said that they have devoted all their lives for the development of Islamic Art.
Present on this occasion were Mr. Khaiser Rahman, Correspondent of Siasat at Bidar, Dr. P. C. Jafar, Deputy Commissioner of Bidar and Mr. Bahadur Desai, Correspondent of The Hindu. They also address the gathering. They appreciated the art of calligraphy. The calligraphy exhibits on the feather of the pigeon were appreciated very much.
Mr. Abdul Qadeer, Secretary of Shaheen Educational institutions welcomed the guests and told that the objective of holding this exhibition in Bidar is that this city has been the seat of Urdu in the past. He requested the lovers of Urdu and citizens of Bidar to see this exhibition. The calligraphers of Bidar, namely Mr. Mohammed Moin Yaar Khan, Mr. Mohammed Abdur Raheem, Mr. Mohammed Khaja Bhai (who could not come), Mr. Mohammed Shajiur Rahman, President of the Calligraphers’ Association of Bidar and Mr. Abdul Muqtadir Taj were felicitated on behalf of Siasat Urdu Daily and Shaheen Institutions. They were garlanded and presented shawls.
