Islamic Calligraphy Exhibition ends

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while addressing the valedictory function of Islamic Calligraphy Exhibition held at Salarjung Museum told that Siasat Urdu Daily will organize Islamic Calligraphy training classes for the youngsters. Mr. Ghulam Mohammed, Director, Dynamic Pharmaceuticals and Mr. Syed Zakir Hussain, member of Salarjung Museum Board, chaired the valedictory function. Mr. Ghulam Mohammed, Mr. Ayub Ali, Mr. Wasif, Mr. Khaleequr Rahman, Mr. Ziauddin Nayyar, Mr. Mohammed Mairaj Khan of Al-Noor Trust and Coordinator of Minorities Cell of Congress felicitated Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Mr. Ahmed Ali (Salarjung Museum) and the Artists and Calligraphers.

Mr. Zaker Hussain told that this exhibition has been very successful. It has created history in Hyderabad due to the large number of visitors. Mr. Mohammed Mairaj Khan and Mr. Ghulam Mohammed congratulated the calligraphers and the Artists for their efforts. Mr. Mohammed Mairaj Khan told that due to the encouragement of the Calligraphers, this arts is getting developed. He suggested that calligraphy classes should be organized in every mosques.

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan was very much impressed with the photographs taken by Mr. Shaik Nizamuddin Laeeq and Mr. Faheem Ansari. He presented them shawls in recognition of their untiring services. The exhibition was held for 23 days, which was visited by more than 1.25 lakh persons belonging to various religions. The visitors expressed their view that this Islamic heritage should be preserved in a museum. They requested Siasat Urdu Daily to take up this task. Many persons offer their help for purchase of land and construction of building. This exhibition was extended twice on public demand. Mr. Kashi Nath Rao, senior Tourist Guide of the Dept of Tourism told that he felt happy by seeing the large number of Islamic Calligraphy exhibits at one place in this exhibition. Mr. Kaleem wrote in the visitors’ book that this Islamic Calligraphy Exhibition is like a paradise. Turkey is the pioneer in tourism and calligraphy in the world. After seeing this exhibition, all the memories from the period of Islamic Caliphate to Asafia Dynasty were recollected. The Quranic verses, the names of Allah(SWT) and Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) created a very good impression on the minds. These are the scenes, which also emerge in our dreams. He suggested that all these exhibits should be published in the form of a book. Mr. Syed Dashtagir Hussain ( Moghalpura) told that this exhibition should be arranged in the districts also. It is for the first time that such a grand exhibition of Islamic Art and Calligraphy was arranged by Siasat Urdu Daily for which it deserves appraisal. This exhibition will be held in Banglore from 14th September onwards.
