Since last one week, electronic and print media is full of stories related to Shoaib Malik’s marriage with Ayesha Siddiqi, her demand for divorce and then again Shoaib’s second marriage with Sania Mirza.
This drama has reached to a point where intervention of Muslim Ulemas had become inevitable and they did solve this controversy with élan. However, the other side of this story is more pathetic as it has not only tarnished the image of the main characters of the drama but also defamed the Muslim community, which is an irreparable loss.
In such a time, where Islam is targeted from everywhere by its enemies, both the families could have sorted out their problems and disputes in camera without any media coverage. The way the three families agreed to settle and bury their problems in haste, it could have been done in a more sensible manner.
But it was not to be. Their wrong approach to the solvable problem has indirectly harmed Islam where it has become a laughing stock for the non-believers. Sania paternal uncle Mr. Shafi, in a joint press conference held at the residence of Ayesha Siddiqi announced that the charges leveled against Shoaib will be withdrawn and for this an application is already been sent to the police.
Shoaib Malik’s stand so far was that his marriage with Ayesha could not be called a real marriage. Ayesha’s mother Fareesa and general secretary pradesh congress committee Mr. Abid Rasool Khan were also present in the conference. Mr. Khan and Mr. Rasool played vital role in sorting out the matter.
Anyway, if they are under the impression that by solving this dispute, they have done a great service to Islam, it is nothing but their wrong notion. This solution is proved a blessing in disguise to Ayesha Siddiqui as it has blocked all the ways of the exposure of Ayesha’s deception but on the other hand, Islam suffered a lot and the image of Muslims is tarnished throughout the world.
Most important among them was that those who wanted to embrace Islam now are in a fix whether to proceed or not? If the drama of these three families kept away a non-believer in taking his decision of becoming a neo-Muslim, the responsibility (sin) of this would be lied on the shoulders of these three families and they will have to face Allah’s wrath.
Shoaib used to call Ayesha as Maha Apa and after divorce, hands over three months alimony to Ayesha and seemed to be satisfied that he has done his responsibility but on the other hand he has defamed Islam. The great blunder Sania did in this connection was allowing Shoaib (na-maharam) to stay in her house.
Not only this, they felt free to touch each other, making mockery of Islamic sharia. Moreover, the heated arguments between Sania and his mother and the glimpses of dance party in Sania’s house are very much safe with media’s eye. Sania and his family could have amicably sorted out the matter with Ayesha Siddiqui’s family.
It shows that they were not decent in their approach and their intention something otherwise. It is because of some intellectuals that this ‘Un-Islamic’ dispute and its chapter is closed. One thing is for sure that either Shoiab or Ayesha, any one of them are most cunning and tried to hide (their) sexual waywardness in the name of Islam. They have forgotten the very bitter fact of the present situation of Hyderabad city where various mosques were burnt and damaged in recent communal riots and curfew was imposed.
People also enjoyed watching the going on by sipping tea in their home comfort.
There was a time when such embarrassing and private discussions were shunned by those old time Muslim women even in front of their elders leave alone talking to media shamelessly.
It is high time that Muslims should learn a lesson with Shoiab-Sania-Ayesha saga and resolve that in future, they would never encourage or highlight any such ‘Un-Islamic’ acts be it an ordinary man or a celebrity.
