Hyderabad: Food wasted in Hotels, homes, function halls, vegetable and food markets and hospitals accounts for half the garbage of Hyderabad city.
Ms. M. Spoorthi of I Support Robin Hood Army told that her organization collects wasted food to feed the poor daily.
Last month, this organization feed more than 4000 hungry persons. Wasted food is collected from hotels in Madhapur, Banjara Hills and other places in the city.
Lack of good is not a challenge. Food is available to anyone who needs it. In its report GHMC mentioned that there are more than 20,000 hotels in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. In addition to the food wasted in Hotels etc, nearly 20% food grains are wasted in the godowns and warehouses of Food Corporation of India due to negligence.
Instead of wasting food and throwing it in the garbage, it is advisable to give it to the poor. Islam strictly warns the wastage of food. It is a sinful act.
