As Muslims it is our duty to come forward to eradicate evils in society. Muslim community has been spending Money on trivial thinks in marriages. Dowry and other expenses have become burdensome for the parents of the brides. All such unnecessary expenditure has nothing to do with Islam.
These thoughts were expressed by Maulana Syed Shah Inamul Haq, Kateeb of Jamia Masjid Afzal Gunj.
He said that is the duty of Ulema and other Muslim leaders to support the campaign launched by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily for minimizing unnecessary expenditure in marriages.
