Islah-e-Mashera committee asks Ulama to avoid participating in TV debates

Rampur: A meeting of Islamic scholars was called by the convener Islah-e-Mashera under the chairmanship of Maulvi Jalees Ahmed Secretary Jamia Rahmania, Tanda. During the meeting, scholars were appealed to avoid TV debates. The speakers told that the latest trend of TV debates doesn’t aim at understanding or identification of truth. They aim at only making fun of Islam and Muslims hence they are organised in the same way. Representatives of Islam are not given chance to put forth their view. The speakers cited the case of Maulana Eijaz Arshad Qasmi.

Keeping in view the need for presenting the true picture of Islam, representative organisations and madrasa authorities were requested to announce few names after consultation who are capable of participating in the debate and conditions should be put forth before TV channels before participating in the debates.
