Iskcon to hold seminar on depression

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) local unit today announced that it would organise two-day interactive seminar on ‘Depression and How to Overcome it’ here from September 1. The seminar would highlight the causes of depression, its symptoms and the ways to overcome them, a release here said. The release said Depression was the most common and deadly disease according to World Health Organization (WHO) affecting 121 million people worldwide. It is estimated that by 2020, depression will be the second largest cause of the death in America after heart disease and approximately 75 per cent of people who commit suicide are found to be suffering from depression. Due to rapid industrialization and IT jobs, the cases of depression are increasing alarmingly in India, the ISKCON release said. UNI
