Sydney: Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has issued a ruling detailing when the owners of women, enslaved by the jihadis, can have sex with them.
Cole Bunzel, a leading ISIS expert at Princeton University, said the ruling or fatwa has a force of law and goes beyond the extremist group’s earlier known utterances on slavery, News.com.au reported.
It sheds new light on how the group is trying to reinterpret centuries old teachings to justify the rape of women in parts of Syria and Iraq that ISIS controls.
The fatwa was among a huge trove of documents captured by the US Special Operations Forces during a raid targeting a top ISIS official in Syria earlier in May. (ANI)
