ISB student’s death: FSL report sought

Hyderabad, December 19: Lakshminarayana Aiyer, the Indian School of Business (ISB) student who was found dead in his hostel room on the school campus on Dec 14, might have committed suicide unable to cope with academic pressure, K Govardhan Reddy, assistant commissioner of police (ACP), Madhapur told Express. He ruled out any foul play behind the death.

When the police searched Lakshminarayana’s room they found several branded liquor and mineral water bottles. “Lakshminarayana might have mixed more than 10 sleeping pills in liquor and had it. We found a half-empty liquor bottle in his room. The ISB campus has tight security and there is no suspicion on the involvement of outsiders,” the ACP said.

Police sent reports to the Forensic Sciences Laboratory to find out whether it was a suicide or natural death.

“Lakshminarayana’s body was in highly decomposed state and the autopsy could not throw much light on his death. We approached the FSL to ascertain whether the deceased consumed organic or inorganic poison,” the ACP said.
