Hyderabad: The Indian School of Business will be hosting the Lord Mayor of London, Peter Estlin on 18th September at its Hyderabad campus. He will be there to kickstart the school’s annual finance summit Artha, which is scheduled to take place on October 18 and 19, 2019.
Alderman Peter Estlin is the 691st Lord Mayor of the City of London and is focused on promoting digital innovation and smart cities, alongside the importance of digital skills. As a seasoned C.A, he will be interacting with the students about his journey as an investment banker for 25 years. He will also talk about the impending impact of Brexit in India, and what it means for FDI flows across both the countries.
Artha, ISB’s student-run flagship finance event is slated to be a two-day event and will see engaging speaker sessions on relevant topics such as Policy, Mergers, and Acquisitions, and Venture Capital, along with deliberations on future trends in Fin Tech, Private Equity, and the Economy at the event. The theme for this year’s summit is ‘DISCOVER, DECODE AND DISRUPT.
The Lord Mayor would be accompanied by his delegation which will also include Mr. Andrew Fleming, the Deputy High Commissioner to Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Fleming has supported projects on community cohesion and inter-faith, countering violence against women, human trafficking, child sexual abuse, fake news, and youth empowerment.
This event marks the launch of Artha, which is slated to be a two-day event. Artha will see engaging speaker sessions and panel discussions on trends in the finance world and the current state of the economy with business leaders. The summit will also see students participating in riveting competitions and networking sessions with industry experts. Artha will be held on October 18th and 19th at the Hyderabad campus.
