Sheer violation of guidelines in appointment of teachers in Maulana Azad National University is evident from the fact that large scale appointments have been made notwithstanding the compulsion of knowledge of Urdu for teaching staff. According to university sources, out of the teachers appointed during the past few years 200 teachers are ignorant of Urdu. The details of Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and Assistant Directors received by Siasat reveal that more than 35 of them have no knowledge of Urdu at all. But such appointments are continued since 2004. Among the conditions laid down for the teaching staff of this University one is that, they should know and should have studied Urdu and Urdu should have been one of the subjects in their 10th, 12th or graduation studies but in this University people not knowing Urdu at all have been appointed. This is sheer injustice towards Urdu language and university.
The present Vice Chancellor broke all previous records in indulging in irregularities. Besides violation of regulations, many instances of nepotism and regional bias also came to the fore.
