Minority Commission has sought details from the government to find out the alleged irregularities in issuing minority certificates to minority institutions in the state. Minority commission has received complaints from various corners that Minority Welfare Department is involved in violation of rules in issuing minority certificates to educational institutions. Besides that complaints were also received regarding irregularities in issue of minority certificates.
According to the complaints received by the commission huge amount is being taken for issuing certificate besides that certificates have been issued to few such institutions who are admitting non-minority students which is sheer violation of rules. Some institutions are availing grant given to minority institutions by obtaining minority certificate but they have no required number of minority students. As per rules such institutions can’t be issued minority certificates where majority of the students do not belong to minority community.
