Irfan Pathan has been named as a replacement of an injured Ranganath Vinay Kumar for the forthcoming limited overs series of Sri Lanka starting on July 21.
A media release issued by BCCI stated: “R. Vinay Kumar suffered a Grade I right hamstring injury while training on 12th July, 2012. He will hence not be available for the forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka. He is expected to regain match-fitness in three weeks.”
Irfan was not a part of the original squad but will now get a chance to consolidate his position in the team.
