Irfan Pathan faces twitter’s wrath for wearing ‘Rakhi’

NEW DELHI: Cricketer Irfan Pathan is no stranger to being trolled. Like several other cricketers, as well as celebrities, the former Indian all-rounder too shared a photo with Rakhi tied on his wrist but was trolled once again for celebrating Raksha Bandhan.

The photo shared on his respective Twitter, Instagram and Facebook page. He was either told that celebrating this festival is un-Islamic while others abused him for celebrating a ‘Hindu festival.’

However, Irfan Pathan hits back saying, “Using foul language. Talking each other rudely on basis of religion. It shows nothing but ur own learning which some ppl have gathered in their mind over the years.stop this nonsense of putting each other down,” (sic) wrote Irfan on Instagram.

The incident comes days after Pathan posted a photo with his wife Safa Baig who was seen “showing” her face and arms on his official Facebook account on Sunday and it read: “This girl is trouble ? #love #wifey.”
